What's a Fair Price for Youth Sports Sponsorship?

Nobody tells league boards or small businesses what sponsorship costs at this level. Here is how to think about it, and the ranges we typically see.

Why it's hard

There is no rate card

Ask what youth sports sponsorship costs and you will get a different answer from every person you ask, because the honest answer depends on things nobody can see from the outside: the size of your market, how many families your league reaches, and exactly what is included. We have seen the same outfield banner priced at $175 at one league and $900 at another five miles away, and both can be defensible.

That is why this page gives you a way to think about value first and ranges second. The ranges are a sanity check, not a quote.

A framework

How to think about what a sponsorship is worth

  • Count the exposure you can actually count. Home dates, typical attendance, announcements per game, posts per week. Multiply what is real, not what sounds big, and don't borrow impression numbers from a different kind of event.
  • Season-long or single event. A banner seen at every home game for a season is worth more than one tournament weekend, and the price should say so.
  • Signage, activation, or naming rights. A fixed logo, a role in the event, and the league's own name are three different products. The further down that list, the higher the price and the more work to deliver. If those terms are new, see How Youth Sports Sponsorship Actually Works.
  • Exclusivity. The only auto dealer in your program is worth more to that dealer than one of five competing for attention.
  • Your local market. What a business can spend depends on the local economy, not just on the value of your audience.

Our sponsorship cost guide goes deeper on these factors, and the complimentary valuation calculator turns them into starting numbers for your assets.

Why we want you to get a fair price

A fair price is what keeps sponsors happy and coming back. An inflated number doesn't hold, and a rushed discount leaves value on the table. Sponsors who feel overcharged don't renew either, and renewal is where a long-term relationship pays off for everyone.

The alignment is real but not perfect: a broker's commission grows with the size of a deal, so ask how any broker is paid, whether the sponsor pays them too, and how their rates change at renewal. Ours are published on How We’re Paid, and we are never paid by both sides of the same sponsorship.
