How We're Paid

Most sponsorship brokers won't tell you their commission until you're deep in a conversation. We publish ours, because you probably have a board to answer to — and "it's free" without a number isn't an answer you can take to them.

The Short Version

Zubie Five earns a commission on sponsorship revenue we close for your organization. That's the only way we make money from you. No retainer, no monthly fee, no setup cost, no minimum commitment, and nothing at all if we don't close anything.

New Sponsorships

Our commission on a new sponsorship is set by the size of the deal — larger deals carry a lower rate.

Sponsorship ValueOur CommissionYou Keep
$1,000 – $2,49930%70%
$2,500 – $9,99925%75%
$10,000 – $24,99920%80%
$25,000 and above15%85%

The rate applies to the whole sponsorship, not in slices. A $3,000 sponsorship is commissioned at 25% of $3,000.

We work on sponsorships of $1,000 and up. Below that, use our free tools and sell it yourself — we'll show you how. Our job is to build you a package worth having, not to take a cut of a single small sign.

What That Looks Like In Dollars

Say we close a $1,500 package for your league — outfield banner, half-page program ad, and PA reads at every home game.

Our commission$450
Your organization keeps$1,050

What you did to earn it: approved the package, signed the agreement, hung the banner. What we did: built your valuation, produced the package, identified the business, made the calls, handled the follow-up, negotiated the terms, prepared the agreement, and reported on it afterward.

That's $1,050 your program didn't have, for work you didn't do. Larger deals carry lower rates because the effort doesn't scale proportionally — at $25,000 we're at 15%, the same rate professional sports agencies charge.

Renewals Cost You Less

A renewal is a conversation, not a search — so the rate drops every season a sponsor stays with you, tier by tier. Your tier is re-evaluated each season based on that season's actual sponsorship value — not locked to whatever you signed in Season 1. A sponsor who grows from $2,000 to $3,000 moves from the $1,000–$2,499 row to the $2,500–$9,999 row and is commissioned at that row's rate for the applicable season.

Tier (Season 1 Rate)Season 2Season 3Season 4Season 5+

$2,500 – $9,999 (25%)20%15%10%10%
$10,000 – $24,999 (20%)15%10%5%5%
$25,000+ (15%)10%5%5%5%

If we renew a $1,000 sponsor at $1,500, we take the renewal rate on the first $1,000 and the new-business rate on the $500 increase. We're paid to grow your accounts, not to coast on them. If your organization renews a sponsor on your own without us, that's your deal — we earn nothing on it.

If a Sponsor Takes a Season Off
1 Missed Season
The renewal cycle picks up where it left off — a single missed season doesn't count against your season number.
2 Missed Seasons
Renewal picks back up at the Season 2 rate for that tier.
3+ Missed Seasons
Treated as new business — Season 1 rate applies.

A season is your organization's main season — for example, Season 1 might be Spring 2026 Little League Baseball, Season 2 is Spring 2027. A sponsor active in Spring 2026 who skips Spring 2027 and returns in Spring 2028 has missed one season.

We're Paid on Money You Actually Collect

Not on signatures. Not on promises. When a sponsor's payment lands in your account, you tell us, we invoice you, and you pay within 15 days. If a sponsor signs and never pays, you owe us nothing — and we'll help you chase it.

You're Not Locked In

We don't ask for exclusivity. Work with us and keep doing everything else — your board members can still call their contacts, your parents can still bring in the orthodontist, you can keep using any other platform or service. If a sponsor comes to you through any channel that isn't us, you owe us nothing.

The only thing we ask is that we give you a written list of the businesses we're actively pitching on your behalf, updated monthly. Those are the ones we've earned. Everyone else in your market is yours.

Your Existing Sponsors Stay Yours

Before we make a single call, we sit down and write out every business you already have a relationship with — current sponsors, anyone who supported you during the last season, and businesses owned by your board members. That list is attached to our agreement.

We don't approach anyone on it, and you owe us nothing on them. The one exception works in your favor: if you ask us to go get a bigger commitment from an existing sponsor, we're paid only on the increase.

We're Never Paid by Both Sides

Sometimes a brand hires us directly to build a sponsorship program across several organizations. When that happens, the brand pays us — and the organizations placed into that program pay nothing. We are never compensated by both an organization and its sponsor on the same deal. You'll always know in writing which arrangement applies before anything is signed.

A Few Specifics
  • Commission is calculated on the gross sponsorship amount, before whatever you spend producing banners or jerseys. We estimate those costs during valuation so your net is never a surprise.
  • Trade and in-kind deals earn us nothing. If a sponsor provides equipment or product instead of cash, we don't take a commission on it. We'll still go get it for you.
  • Payment by ACH or check. Card payments carry a 3% processing surcharge, shown on the invoice.
  • Your exact rates are written into your agreement before we make a single call on your behalf.
  • Cancel anytime with 30 days' written notice, either side. No penalty.
  • If we part ways, there's a 120-day window. For 120 days after termination, we're owed commission only on the specific businesses that appeared on your monthly prospect list — the ones we were actively pitching. Everyone else in your market is yours immediately, free and clear.
What You'll Never Pay
No retainer
No monthly or annual fee
No setup or onboarding cost
No charge if we don't close anything
No cancellation fee
No fee for our valuation tools or resources

What Your Board Will Ask

If you have to take this to a board, a booster club, or a district business office, these are the questions that come up. Here are the answers in writing, before you ask.

How long is the agreement, and how do we get out? +
There isn't a contract term. The agreement continues until either of us ends it, and either side can do that at any time on thirty days' written notice — no penalty, no fee, no reason required. You're never locked into a season, a year, or a minimum.
Do we have to work exclusively with Zubie Five? +
No. You can pursue and accept sponsorship from any source, through any channel, at any time. If a sponsor comes to you through your board, your parents, or another service, you owe us nothing. The only businesses covered are the ones on the written prospect list we send you every month — the ones we're actively pitching on your behalf.
Who owns the sponsor relationship? +
You do, from day one. Every sponsorship agreement is between the sponsor and your organization — your legal name, your EIN, your remit-to address, your signature. Zubie Five is never the counterparty and never handles the money. The sponsor pays you directly, and we invoice you separately for our commission.

If we part ways, your sponsors are yours. There's nothing for us to hand over, because it was never ours to hold.
Do you take a commission on renewals forever? +
As long as we're the ones renewing the sponsor, yes — at a rate that drops every season. By Season 4 it's roughly half the original rate or lower, and it holds there while the relationship continues.

Three things limit it. If your organization renews a sponsor without us, we earn nothing. If a sponsor leaves for three or more seasons and we win them back, that's new business, not a perpetual renewal. And if you end the agreement, we're owed nothing on any renewal after the 120-day window closes.
Can you raise your rates on us? +
Not on anything already sold. We can revise our rate schedule on sixty days' written notice, but revised rates apply only to sponsorships closed on or after the effective date. Every sponsorship already on your books stays at the rate it was closed under — for its entire renewal life, including the season-by-season decline.
What happens to our sponsors if we cancel? +
They stay with you. For 120 days after termination, we're owed commission only on the specific businesses that appeared on your monthly prospect list — the ones we were actively pitching when you gave notice. Everyone else in your market is yours immediately, with no obligation.

We'll send you a final copy of that prospect list within five business days of termination, so you know exactly which businesses are covered and when the window closes.

The full terms are in the representation agreement, and we'll walk your board through it before anyone signs.
