Three separate structures operate in parallel, not one hierarchy: USA Volleyball, the sport's actual national governing body, with 400,000-plus members organized through 40 Regional Volleyball Associations and a Junior National Championship spanning seven divisions; AAU, which separately sanctions its own club volleyball competition; and the Junior Volleyball Association (JVA), representing 1,110 clubs and more than 260,000 combined members, built specifically around club directors rather than individual player membership. A single club team can hold all three affiliations at once, for different competitive pathways.
There's no single governing sponsorship policy across these organizations — sponsoring "club volleyball" really means sponsoring one specific club, since there's no national program to buy into.
USA Volleyball requires SafeSport training and background screening for every adult at a sanctioned event.
Clubs that want help finding local sponsors without adding to a director's workload can consider Zubie Five as one option.
