Sponsorship is one more job
An athletic director's week is rarely about sponsorship. It's the football schedule and the volleyball bus, the gym floor that needs refinishing, the officials who have to be paid, the coach who called in sick, and the equipment order that is already late. Sponsorship matters, because everyone can see what the budget doesn't cover, but it's one more job that nobody on staff has the time to do well.
That's where Zubie Five comes in. We find, pitch, and manage local sponsors for high school athletic programs, so the money can reach your athletes without becoming another thing on your desk.
What This Means For Your Program
- No upfront cost to the athletic department. Getting started doesn't draw on your athletic budget. How we're paid is open for anyone to read on How We're Paid.
- Standing sponsorship revenue, not a one-time fundraiser. Sponsors can return season after season, so you're building something that carries forward instead of starting over every fall.
- Funds for what your program actually needs. Equipment, travel, or facility needs, within your district's rules about where sponsorship revenue goes.
- Your department keeps running its programs. Zubie Five handles the sponsor relationships: the research, the outreach, the pitches, and the conversations in between.
Most districts need a business official or the governing board to sign off, and we build the timeline around your board calendar. The high school athletics page covers approvals, where the money goes, and how it works with booster clubs.
How It Works
- 1
We Value Your Assets
We analyze your organization's audience, location, and assets to calculate their true fair market value, using the same methodology as pro sports agencies.
- 2
We Find Your Sponsors
We identify, pitch, and negotiate with local businesses and national brands on your behalf. You focus on your program, and we focus on finding the money.
- 3
Your Program Gets Funded
Sponsor dollars reach your organization and go straight back into your season, with nothing at risk for your program.
Common Questions
Does this cost the athletic department anything?
Getting started costs nothing, and we're only paid when sponsor money reaches your school. Everything is in writing before we make a single call, and the full details are open for anyone to read on How We're Paid.
How much staff time does this take?
Less than most directors expect. There's a handful of conversations at the start: what your sports and venues have to offer, which sponsors are already in place, and what your district's policy allows. After that we handle the research, outreach, and pitches, and your school signs off on every agreement. Your part after signing is fulfillment, like hanging a banner or announcing a sponsor, because we don't install signage or work your events.
What if we already have a few sponsors in place?
That's a good place to start. We review any existing agreements before we begin and won't approach sponsors already committed to your school through other channels. We focus on the sponsorship assets nobody is selling yet.
Who manages the relationship once it's signed?
Zubie Five does. We stay the point of contact for your sponsors, including the end-of-season report that shows their placement was up and visible. Sponsors pay your organization directly (your school, booster club, or foundation, depending on how your district is set up), never through us.
